Plants and Growth EYFS Key Stage One Year One and Year Two New Life Plants and Flowers



Charlie and Lola Video: This video is called “I really wonder what plant I am growing!” This is a super video to show to introduce the topic of plants to your class.

Information Sheet: Using information books children can carry out their own research and record it on this sheet. Also good to use as evidence of independent writing.

Observational Drawings of Plants: A super powerpoint presentation which includes many slides showing different approaches to drawing plants using a selection of art techniques, pastels, paints and line drawing.

The Enormous Turnip Story: Ordering the pictures from the story, learning about sequencing events in stories and adding own captions and labels.

Plant Websites: A great list of interactive websites and resources available on line! Saves you the time of searching on Google for useful websites, when they are all here in one document!

Plant Walk: A smartboard presentation with information about how to carry out a plant hunt. Looks at the history of Charles Darwin and the importance of looking after plants and caring for the environment. Includes a video link on the last slide.

Plant Minibook: A simple book format which can be used for independent writing both inside and outside the classroom. Just print the number you would like and then slide in half to make small little books!

Teacher Resource - St George and the Dragon KS1 EARLY YEARS INFANT TOPIC IWB

Dragon Websites: A large list of many useful websites to use in the teaching of St George and the Dragon. Literacy, numeracy and topic activities and games.
St George Banner: A large printable banner great for classroom wall displays. Bold and eye catching with a dragon border.
Dragon Colourings: A selection of dragon colouring some simple some more complex involving George and the Dragon theme.
Design a Flag: A blank flag template for children to colour, decorate, collage their own flag design.
Dragon Number Bonds: A sheet with numbered dragons. Children to cut and stick the dragons together making 10.
Dragon Pairs: A fun planning activity. Print and laminate to make a great dragon pairs game, children to take it in turns to match the dragons together, or a snap game with two children, can be used to enhance descriptive language.
St George Minibook: A blank format of a minibook for children to write and draw in based upon St George and the Dragon story.
Dragon Wanted Poster: A worksheet activity format set as a Wanted Poster with space for children to write their own interesting description to advertise the missing Dragon.
St George Writing Page: A format activity worksheet for children to draw a picture and lines to use to retell the story of St George.
Dragon Doubling: A smartboard interactive whiteboard activity. The activity introduces children to doubling using the visual image of the dragons.
Dragon Story Writing: A set of smartboard interactive whiteboard activities, introducing children to writing their own story about a Dragon. The smartboards show examples of children’s story maps and how to plan a good story as well as success criteria and what makes a good beginning, middle and end.

Elmer Writing Activity Booklet: A fantastic booklet for children to complete either independently or with support. This booklet contains a range of opportunities for writing as well as time fillers and finishing activities. Children will be able to use the book as a keepsake at the end of the topic or use as an assessment piece of work e.g. speech bubbles, descriptive writing, independent writing and much much more! (Print it out and staple the pages together to create a super workbook)2D Shape Elmer: A great interactive smartboard presentation using 2d shapes to create pictures and images. Elmer Shape Picture Stickers: A sheet of stickers to print out and use to stick onto children's work, contains success criteria for the work.
Elmer Colourings: A selection of Elmer colourings to use a time filler, planning activities or fine motor skill activity. Elmer Minibook: A blank book for children to fill out with their own drawings, pictures and writing about the Elmer story.
Elmer Speech Bubble Writing: A smartboard presentation which can be used to introduce and spark interest in the writing booklet. This presentation looks at speech bubbles and how characters might be thinking, and what they might be saying. Contains colourful pictures and success criteria. Imagine you are Elmer!: A smartboard presentaton which introduces descriptive language and character. Children will be shown a picture from the book and start to use their senses to imagine what Elmer is experiencing. Contains success criteria and a slide to model writing as a whole class.

CELEBRATING DIFFERENCE
This a Powerpoint Presentation looking at celebrating differences. Children will be shown a class photograph to recognise differences and then asked to what it would be like if every child was the same in the class. The Powerpoint includes a story called "Rainbow of Friends". 
R Kelly's song "World's Greatest" included.
 

HARE AND THE TORTOISE STORY
This a Powerpoint Presentation looking at the story. It also includes a video of the Hare and Tortoise Story, as well as a Poem. There is also a song included called "You can do it".
 
FAMOUS PEOPLE ACHIEVING THEIR GOALS
This a Powerpoint Presentation looking at
celebrities who have worked hard to achieve their goals. It also includes three videos of those famous people. 

 CELEBRATING GOALS
This a Powerpoint Presentation looking at how you can achieve a goal, and what are good characteristics to have. This presentation includes the story "The Magic Bicycle" about a boy who wants to ride his bike and with perservence achieves his goal! A song called "Believe" is included.

Teaching Resource - Rainbow Fish Water KS1 EARLY YEARS INFANT TOPIC IWB

Rainbow Fish Colouring: A set of simple colourings to use during the topic of the Rainbow Fish. 
List of Characters: An activity sheet for children to complete by writing in the name of the characters in the story using their phonic knowledge, pictures of each character help to aid children's memory.Minibook of The Rainbow Fish: A blank book format to encourage independent writing. A bold front cover with picture of the rainbow fish and title and space for the author's name to be written. Inside is blank for pictures and free writing about the story. 
Weekly Planning for The Rainbow Fish: A copy of my planning for a term based upon Water and a focus week on The Rainbow Fish. My planning is split into each of the six areas of the EYFS curriculum, making cross curricular links where possible. 
Rainbow Fish Board Game: An interactive board game based upon the story of the Rainbow Fish, can be played using the interactive whiteboard. You could also print and laminate to make it into a tabletop board game.
Numeracy Fish Activity: A cut and stick activity where children need to order the numbered fishes from 1 - 10 (some numbers missing) and place into the fish bowls.
Rainbow Fish Video: A fantastic video of the retelling of the Rainbow Fish story, including moving pictures, narrator and music. Great to end or begin a Rainbow Fish topic.
