Teaching Resource - Supermarket and Food KS1 EARLY YEARS INFANT TOPIC IWB


Food Dominos: A large set of dominos which can be played on the carpet or table. It contains fantastic clipart images of a range of foods. Can be used to promote social skills as well as literacy and language development and a super resource for EAL children's vocabularly. 
Shopping List: A template for a shopping list to be used as part of a literacy session or in the role play area or outdoors. 
Ordering Fruit by Size: A selection of fruits to be ordered and cut out by size, great numeracy activity related to the topic. 
Supermarket Signs: A powerpoint presentation based on the signs and labels found in the supermarket. What do they say? Why? What are they for? Can be used as a start to creating own role play supermarket area. 
Tinned or Fresh: An activity whereby children taste and compare tinned and fresh fruit. Children complete set proforma sheet.

Senses Videos: A selection of short videos under five minutes long to introduce and explain the senses, fun, exciting for children to watch and learn.
Funnybones Videos: Six funnybones videos to watch to learn about bones and skeletons.
I can feel... A worksheet for children to use to record what they can feel in a range of feely bags and describe using adjectives.
Ourselves IWB: A list of a range of interactive resources to use on the Interactive Whiteboard and computer.
Salvador Dali: A smartboard presentation displaying information about Dali and examples of his artwork, a good link to self portraits.
Senses Descriptions: Children to guess an object by the senses clues e.g. it smells... it looks... it tastes...
Senses Poems: A smartboard presentation with a selection of poems relating to the senses.
Smelly Pots: A worksheet for children to complete to predict what could be in a selection of pots.
Titch Story: A smartboard with a range of activities about the story of Titch and how he grows compared to his brother Pete and his sister Mary. A great story for growth and change.
Titch Planning: A copy of my literacy planning for a week on Titch.
