Letterbox Lil
A super story whilst teaching the topic of Houses and Homes. The story is about a little girl called Lil! She loves peaking through people’s letterboxes in the town where she lives! Behind each door Lil spies some interesting people and characters… until one day she looks behind a door only to be faced with some eyes staring back at her!
Smartboard 1: What could be behind the letterbox? A blank format for children to write what could be behind the door.
Smartboard 2: An opportunity to order pictures from the story in the sequence they happened in the book. Great to use to introduce sequencing independently through a whole class presentation.
Smartboard 3: Using some of the characters from the story, discuss what they may be saying or feeling. Children to write in the large speech and though bubbles.
Letterbox Lil Story: A copy of the story for children to read using the interactive whiteboard. Option of using the drag and cover tool to reveal parts of the picture to discuss them in more detail.
Letterbox Lil Wordsearch: A great extention / finishing activity. A wordsearch full of keywords for children to find and circle!
Lift the Letter Box: Children to draw what they think maybe behind the door and to write a description using adjectives.
